Precision M6500 USB 3.0 not working with 3.0 devices [host controller util says controller not found]
I've got a brand new Precision M6500 with Windows 7 Pro and I can't use USB 3.0 devices on the USB 3.0 slots. I downloaded and ran the NEC Controller Utility and it says the controller was not found.
USB 1.x and 2.x devices work fine on these ports and the USB 3.0 devices work fine on the 2.0 ports [albeit at 2.0 speeds]

Aaaaaaand I feel very stupid.
USB 3.0 was disabled in BIOS. Why is it sent like this from Dell?

This is a bit late, but I can't find nowhere solution for my problem. My USB ports stop working suddenly recently (My M6500 has 2 on the left side and 1 on the right. The weird thing is that, only the two on the left have problem). When I connect USB device, they do response (light is on), but it seems PC not recognize a new hardware plugged in.
I also try to reinstall driver, disable/enable in BIOS, but no chance. By ethe way, in my BISO settings there is no option for USB 3.0, only "External USB" option.
Every help will be greatly approciated.

I had usb3 enabled in the bios, but they still weren't working...in the end I re-installed the usb3 drivers from http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/DriverFileFormats?DriverId=7R6PD&FileId=2731092648&productCode=precision-m6500&urlProductCode=False which solved the problem. I'm advised our tech guys may have installed the drivers in the wrong order.
